In my previous post I shared a card I made using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits. You can see that card here. When I die cut the rectangle to create the frame for the previous card, I was left with a nice rectangle shaped with stitching around the edge. What I like about these dies is they stitch both the inside and the outside of the cut.
Birthday Card
I used the same piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Piece of Cake stamp set I used in the previous card. I love the variety of cakes you can create with this stamp set. I wanted to bring out the black in the DSP and stamped image that wasn’t just a mat layer. I decided on the strip of black paper for a little different touch.
To be completely honest, I wasn’t going to add the ribbon. After I stamped my cake I noticed that is wasn’t quite center so I needed something to minimize the space below the cake. I didn’t have any matching ribbon but I did have a coordinating Stampin’ Blend Marker in Peachy Pink and white sheer ribbon. So I used the marker and colored ribbon….BAM! I now have coordinating ribbon for this card. Since I tied a ribbon around the rectangle framelit, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up slightly.
Below is another photo of the card and a coordinating envelope. One way to use your scraps of paper.
I hope you enjoyed this card. Please leave a comment below and let me know if you like the black strip on the card front or not.
Happy Stamping!
