Do you have a sentiment stamp you wish you could take a part? The entire sentiment isn’t right for your card, but there is a part of the stamp that is. Now some stampers wouldn’t think twice to cut the stamp into pieces. OUCH! I myself have a hard time cutting my stamps. I can’t say that I’ve never cut apart a stamp but it makes me cringe so I prefer not doing this. Instead, I use Stampin’ Write Markers to color just the part I want to stamp. The great thing about Stampin’ Up is every ink color comes in a Stampin’ Write Marker. With the card below I colored just the ‘you!’ with the LEMON LIME TWIST marker.
The image below shows you how you use the Stampin’ Write Marker to color just what you want to stamp. I suggest you first try stamping your image on scratch paper a couple of times so you can see how the image will stamp. Just color directly onto the stamp with the marker. I suggest giving the stamp a quick huff of breath to help add a bit of moisture. Also, with any photopolymer stamp, you will want to use your piercing mat to give it a little more cushion.
Here is a closer look at how I used the LEMON LIME TWIST Stampin’ Write Marker. I first stamped the sentiment “celebrate the good stuff” with the EMERALD ENVY ink pad, then I added just the ‘you’ from another sentiment stamp from PICTURE PERFECT BIRTHDAY stamp set. Available January 3, 2018.
Here is another look at the card I made using a Stampin’ Write Marker instead of an ink pad along with another similar card. I made these two cards for my coworkers who are retiring. Oh, the thought of retiring sounds great but I’m in no hurry to grow up. 🙂
The product I used to make these cards can be found below with the exception of the stamp set, ribbon and sequins. These three items will be available, January 3, 2018. If you like this technique, you may want to check out another technique I did here.
