I hope you enjoyed the Bird Banter cards I made and shared with you the other day. Today’s project is a small box I made using the new stamp set LOVELY WISHES and our new STAMPIN’ BLENDS markers.
Bottom of Box: Cut PINK PIROUETTE cardstock into an 8″ x 8″ square and score all sides at 2″. TIP: before you score all side you want to cut a very small sliver from 2 sides that have a connecting corner. This helpful step will allow the top of the box to slide on with ease. About 1/16″ from two sides.
Assemble Bottom of Box: You will need to make 4 cuts, 2 on each side along the score line. From the bottom of the score cut to the top of the perpendicular score line. See step 2 in image below for all 4 cut lines. You will want to cut small wedges from each corner; see step 3. This step makes for a cleaner looking box. Next, attach adhesive to all 4 corners as shown, step 4. For this box I used TEAR & TAPE ADHESIVE but any adhesive will work. To create the box you will fold in each corner to create the box.
Top of Box: Cut WHISPER WHITE cardstock into a 6″ x 6″ square. Before you score and cut you will want to stamp and color the cardstock. See image below. I used STAMPIN’ BLENDS to color the stamped images on the top of the box. The colors I used are PINK PIROUETTE and OLD OLIVE. After you color, score each side 1″ and follow steps 2 – 4 above.
After you have assembled your box it will look like the image below but you can see I added a little something to the lid of the box. 🙂
Box Embellishment: Using the largest square die from the STITCHED SHAPES FRAMELITS, cut a piece of OLD OLIVE and with the second largest square cut a piece of WHISPER WHITE. I stamped the sentiment “Wishing you a Lovely Day” and some leaves from the stamp I used to stamp the top of the box. The last embellishment I added was PEARL BASIC JEWELS. TIP: you can use the STAMPIN’ BLENDS to color the pearls to match your project. See finished top of the box below.
I was pretty happy with how the box turned out and can’t wait to give it to one of my coworkers to thank her for always being so helpful.
