Gift Card Holder

Here is a fun way to send a gift card. It’s a gift card holder and card all in one. How fun is that?

This card is easy to make using two stamp sets, Coffee Cafe and Snowflake Sentiments. I just love all the little detailed stamps in the Coffee Cafe set and the wonderful sentiments in the Snowflake Sentiments set. I also used the Coffee Cups Framelits dies to create the coffee cup on top of the card.

Steps for Card

  1. Cut your cardbase at 4 1/4″ x 9 1/4″ and score at 3 3/4″. My card sample cardbase is the lovely, rich Merry Merlot.
  2. Cut a piece of decorative paper for the top of the card. This piece measures 3 1/2″ x 4″. The sample is using a design from Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper. Adhere this piece to the top of the card once folded.
  3. For the inside of the card you will need a piece of Whisper White cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″. You will also need to cut a piece of cardstock at 2 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ for the gift card slot. You can use the same color as your card base or you can use a coordinating color.
  4. Next you will use scraps to stamp and die-cut the coffee cup. The framelits make cutting the stamped images easy, however, you can simply fussy cut the images if you don’t have the dies. Although you are going to want them because the framelit that is the cup sleeve has ridges to add texture to your cup. EEEK! I just love the details. Did you notice the little heart cap stopper? I know, right? TOO CUTE!
  5. Before I adhered the coffee cup to the front of the card, with Stampin’ Dimensionals, I used some Linen Thread to tie a bow around the cup.
  6. Stamp the snowflakes and sentiment on the far right edge of the Whisper White cardstock. What I did was first stamp the snowflakes then the sentiment in between the two. This helped to center the sentiment. See image below. I also added a small snowflake in the upper left corner.
  7. Last step I did was to glue the pocket for the gift card. Before I glued it down, I took my 2″ punch and punched out a small notch on one end. When you glue the pocket you want to make sure you glue close to the edges, only three of the edges. NOTE: do not add any glue to the edge where you punch the notched or you won’t be able to place your gift card inside.
